Introduction To The Music Video Project
Good afternoon, my name is Nicholas Smith. Today, I was given the opportunity to create a music
video project. Given to me by lovely teachers Mr. Katz and Ms. Marchionne. Through the AICE
MEDIA department. This will be my second project given to me and I can't wait. For this project I've
decided to work on it by myself. Due to the current circumstances I have chosen to do this project
alone. I don't want to interfere with others resulting with risk of the life of myself and others. I believe
that doing this project alone is the safest option. For my project, I have decided to do "The Bigger
Picture." Which was made by Lil Baby an artist from Atlanta, Georgia. "The Bigger Picture" was the
in fact voted the most iconic song of the year. I decided to do this song as it speaks on the behalf of the
"black lives matter" movement. This song was created as a reaction of the "George Floyd" killing.
George Floyd was 46 years old when he was robbed of his life. On May 25, 2020 George Floyd was
killed by police officer Derek Chauvin. Floyd was unarmed while the cop kept his knee applying
pressure on Floyd's neck resulting in the tragic death. While George repeatedly said "I can't breathe"
the cop continued to hold his neck down. In fact one of the lyrics in the song says " I guess that mean
hold him down if he say he can't breathe" again representing Floyd as he told the officer multiple
times and the officer did not budge resulting in death.
