AICE Media Studies
Hi, my name is Nicholas Smith I am in 11th grade. I attend Fort Lauderdale High School
located on 1600 NE 4th Ave in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I decided to take the AICE Media
Studies course as I needed to get an AICE credit in order to receive my AICE diploma. Also, I
knew that Ms.Katz & Mr.Katz would teaching this course and I like them both as a teacher. In
their own way, they are both smart & intelligent individuals and I like their strategic plans on
teaching. Now about me, I was born on May 26, 2004, I was born and raised in Fort
Lauderdale the first school I attended was Fort Lauderdale Prep. That was until my "lovely"
sister was born 6 years later. She was born on February 17, 2010, when my sister was born
my parents made a big decision to move to Sunrise, Fl. The change was hard I missed my
friends my second school welcomed me with open hands. I attended Nob Hill Elementary from
grades 2nd-5th located on 2100 Nw 104th Ave in Sunrise, FL. Although I did not attend that
school from K-5th I made lots of new friends over the years I attended. The majority of my
friends and I attended Bair Middle School which at the time wasn't the best school in the
county but the most convenient for my friends, parents, and me. During my 8th grade year my
mom found out about Fort Lauderdale High School which focused on Pre-Law and
Cambridge. Although this school was located in Fort Lauderdale i was destined to attend. So,
my mom applied me to the school and luckily i was accepted to attend the school. I knew that
I would lose lots my friends due to this decision since we were all located in sunrise but I knew
it was the best opportunity for me so i had to take it. I can say that I am very happy that I took
the opportunity to attend Fort Lauderdale. This school has given me the best education I
could receive but also new friends and lots of opportunity such as the Cambridge diploma
which I wouldn't be able to receive if I went anywhere else.
