(CCR) Blog

Sadly, this will be the last blog for my music video. I sure did have fun throughout

the process of making this video. Especially the blogs it's almost like having a youtube

channel. It feels like I can come and speak about anything on here. Almost like you

guys are my other family. I will surely miss blogging. But hopefully, we get more

projects after the break. But onto the questions ...

    1. How does your product use or challenge convention AND how does represent social groups or issues?

Throughout my music video, I included clips of me holding signs which relate to the

black lives matter (BLM) movement. One of these signs includes the words "I can't

breathe." Which were the last words that George Floyd said before dying. George

Floyd was an African-American man who died in the hands of police officer Derek

Chauvin. The death of George Floyd went worldwide starting the (BLM) movement in

May 2020. Also, the reason that the song for my music video was made as a response to

police brutality. This meaning that social groups that believe black lives matter would

be attracted to my music video. Also, groups that believe police brutality issue against

black lives and should be stopped.

    2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Throughout my music video, I played the song "The Bigger Picture" by Lil BabyMy

reasoning for that is so that the audience does not drift off or get bored watching my

music video. Also, that's the purpose of a music video to have the song in the

background. But I understand the audience is human just like me and I know what

it's like to experience 60-seconds of a music video that isn't intriguing. I tend to do

something else like go on my phone so I included the song hoping that the audience

would be more engaged in the video. Also, so they can hear the message I wanted to

show them. I believe my music video would be distrubted as political as it speaks

about black lives matter and police brutality.

    3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

From my commercial to my music video, I believe that my production skills have

greatly improved. These projects have allowed me to discover the editing tools on my

iPhone. Through my phone alone using "Photos" I was able to edit the lighting in the

videos it allowed me to touch on the things such as the light: exposure, brightness,

contrast, shadows, etc. Also, using an app called "iMovie" I was able to edit certain

parts in & out of the clips. If wasn't for these project I would've never discovered the

editing tools given to me through just my phone alone.

4. How did you integrate technologies software, hardware, and online - in this project?

For this project, to be made I underwent 4 simple steps. The first step was to record

the commercial on my iPhone. The second step was to edit the commercial using the

editing tools on my "Photos" app on my iPhone as well as "iMovie" app. The third

step was to upload the edited video to YouTube. The last step was to embed that video

from YouTube onto blogger.com
